We did a half page journal entry on Monday and Tuesday, will do a full page journal entry on the block days, and will do another half page journal entry on Friday.  There will be a journal check Friday.  We started the short piece “Araby” on Monday, finished it on Tuesday and started the introduction to Shakespeare’s Othello with lecture notes on Tuesday.  We will continue lecture notes and assign parts and begin reading part 1 of Othello on the block day.  We may finish act 1 by Friday, when we finish the act be it Friday or Monday, there will be a test.  Students will be given study guides so they know what questions are on the test, and will find the answers to the study guides as we read the act.  The Lecture notes will be collected Friday, as will the study materials for “Araby.”

We did a half page journal entry on Monday and Tuesday.  We did a 1 page entry on block day, and will do a half page journal entry on Friday.  Journals will be checked Friday 2-16.  We read “Piano” and “Those Winter Sundays,” worked on 2 study guides and took a test on Tuesday.  We started “Tonight I can Write” on Tuesday, worked on 2 study guides and took the test on the Block day.  We then started “The Witness for the Prosecution.” a short story.  We will probably be working on the study materials and taking a test for ”Witness” on Friday.  Study materials for “Piano” and “Those Winter Sundays” will be collected on Friday.

Back by popular demand, I will start to post assignments to this site and their due dates.  The grade function is inoperable, but I may be able to get that back working at a later date.    10th English Today is Friday, collection day.  I am collecting the purple, blud and canary yellow study guides from “The Sonnet Ballad,” the yellow study guide from “Love Without Love” and “The Taxi,” and the yellow and pink study guides from “Sonnet 18″ and “Sonnet 30.”  We will start to work on “Piano” and “Those Winter Sundays” from page 228 of the textbook, and we are doing a journal check today.   12th English Today is Friday, collection day.  I am collecting the pink, salmon and canary yellow study guides from the “Sonnet 43″ unit.  I am also collecting the green, pink and blue study guides from “What Men Live By.”  We are also doing a journal check today, and taking a test on “What Men Live By.”
