Grades were updated this morning at 9:15. Please check your grades as there was a glitch in the system and I had to re enter scores for a few classes. Teachers must turn in grades for the progress report by next week Tuesday, so if any changes need to be made, please let me know by Monday at the latest.
10th English: We have been introducing the King Arthur Unit. The class watched a movie The Natural and then we went over the characteristics of Romantic Literature and the Heroic Tradition, these can be found on pages 1014,1016, and 1064. The students were assigned an essay, to prove that The Natural is a romantic piece that follows the heroic tradition. Students should explain some of the characteristics of romantic literature and the heroic tradition and give examples from the film. Absent students can do the same thing with any movie they have seen. This paper was assigned Tuesday last week. I am collecting them on the block day for this week. Additionally, we finished off reading the short story "A White Heron" last week, but never took the test as I was absent. On the block day we review the story, finish off the worksheets and take the test on "A White Heron." The open note verbal advantage quiz is on Friday. Worksheets from "A White Heron" are also due Friday: Contx Clues 77 & Word Origins 78, Lit Anls 6 & Act Read 5, WTK 7 & Adverb Clauses 8, Quiz 9.
Computer Applications: My computer applications classes were the most affected by the grade glitch, please check your grades on the Grades link of this site and make sure everything is correct. All assignments that are going to be on the progress report are currently in the grades, what you see is what you get unless you get more finished and graded by me by Monday of next week.
